以Iscove's MEM為基底，已包含L-glutamin，並添加微量元素、白蛋白、膽固醇、大豆脂質、維生素的優化培養液，無任何生長因子
由於不包含貼附因子，對於某些細胞培養時需使用gelatine、collagen、poly-D-lysine或 fibronectin預處理時，能在無血清條件下進行培養
已成功使用Panserin 401培養的細胞有:Hybridoma、Lymphocytes、Macrophages、Fibroblasts、Melanocytes、Carcinoma-cells、HEK-cells、HeLa-cells、CHO-cells
